Terrarium Question

I have a rubbermaid container for a terranium. I still haven't found a plastic screen to suspend over the future cakes so I avoid water drips. Any suggestions for something simple to bypass this problem? Thanks.

You can cover the casings in saran wrap...at least on the top

poke holes in the plastic wrap, or use tin foil with some holes in it--even though when the casings are colonizing you don't want too much air exchange, absolutely no air exchange lends itself to contams. i don't usually worry about drips, and have no problems. (with drips)

Ok, if i'm reading you correctly I think you mean a 'drip sheild', well I did try this and it DID work: RainX or equivalent.

I am also a newbie(to growing, not to this site), but I think I remember reading somewhere, about a 'trick' that someone came up with to stop the dripping problem... It said that he took a cotton ball, and rubbed a thin layer of vaseline on the underside of the lid to his container... Since vaseline is so oily, the water was not able to collect on the lid, so NO DRIP! I haven't tried this yet, but it seems reasonable...

Nice to hear that someone tried the rain-x stuff with success. I remember hearing about the vaseline too, nasty.

The Rain-x and the anti-fog wipes both dry completely leaving no undesirable residue. The stuff is great for making glass VERY easy to clean too.

Take it easy. And if it's easy, take it twice!

I havent tried it but I believe that those overhead transperant sheets that schools use would be perfect for a cover up. Does it matter how big this window is?
