After much searching, I finally found coconut husks. Only they are small chips. Is this the right stuff? It it is, how should I go about using it? Anyone got a coco tek out there?

Chew them up REAL good, swallow them, wait 12 hourd, shit them out and spread them VERY thin!!(lol)
Seriously... chop them as fine as 50/50 and case thinly.

I don't remember the brand, probably should have noted it, but the first block of coco husk I bought was in the form of small chips. They were about .5"X.5"X.5" or so. Found them at a pet store.
They are NOT the best kind. The chips I used seemed to colonize OK, but I'm convinced they were implanted with trich. Tiny green spots developed all over them over time. . .I still got a mediocre flush or two, the mold didn't seem to spread like it would in a 50/50 mix. Who wants to fan a tray with even a tiny bit of mold?
Splurge and get the GrowBrick. . .there are a couple others that work well, all should be fibres, not chunks.
The way I've been doing it is to put a small piece [it will surprise you how much the fibres expand!] in a bowl and pour tea kettle-boiling water over it. Cover and use the fibre as soon as it cools
The above information is complete fiction. I only eat veils
