Coco husk trich test grow

I've seen threads about how coco husk is bad and that they add "trich spores" because it helps blah blah blah. Husk I used: http://www.petlanddiscounts.com/detail.asp?product_id=495621
Being me, Cheap fuck I decided to test it out and save money. So I did a ghetto-tech testing. Please be respectful, This was a soul test to help others out there...plus I'm lazy since I figured it will turn out to be contaminated.
Strain: Albino A+
What did I do: (eye bawled most of it because I can) * Prepared coco husk with used coffee grounds, gypsum, * Used Frank's Proper Pasteurization Tek 3.0 (I did poorly and got lazy, Did half) http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/17246844 * Took 1 jar of fully colonized wbs and spawned it into coco husk in trash bag. (wbs were soaked in liquid coffee) *Put the bag in disposable can just in case it turns out to be contam I can dispose safely. * Waited about a week until it was fully colonized.
Results: (will add more pics later)
sorry blurry *After 1 week:

MMM The smell is mushroom myclium is beautiful. Can you guys tell me what to do with this blob?
I dunno what now, I threw out my sgfc because I'm stupid, Too much effort to continue but I will try to.

Coco husk is only 'bad' because it takes the mycelium much more energy and time to digest it. The flushes, especially the first will probably be poor. That kind of substrate needs at least an additional week before introducing fruiting conditions.

Good to know, Will use that information for when I spawn to bulk. You think shredding the husk will have any effect? Also I put the blob back into colonization period a while ago. Needed time to think what to do with it.

Well, it would, coco coir is just shredded coco husk, but it would probably be extremely difficult and annoying without some sort of industrial equipment. A week or two long digestion period would probably do the trick. As for the Trichoderma, proper pasteurization process will destroy all spores, no matter if they were added intentionally or not.

That's what I wanted to prove in this thread, and in the testing of cores, and also...Any Idea how am I going to fruit this?

If you don't have a fruiting chamber, you can just use the bag it was colonizing in. Give it a 12 hour soak, then start fanning regularly. Maybe not as good as a proper fruiting chamber, but it will still work. Although IME, AA+ takes longer to fruit and is not as easy as other cubensis.

They don't add trichoderma to pet store coir, only coir intended for hydroponic use. RR
