no but what are you talking about --before you mix it with BRF or when you put plian dry vermic. on the top to use as a seal
o.k. 1st you mix the BRF water and verm.
put it in your jars
put a layer of dry verm on top
put the lids on up side down(if you have your holes in already)
cover with tinfoil.
pressure cook
let cool
inoculate(being very sterile)
watch the magic start
when all white
birth your cakes
and now really watch the magic

no. it has no food value so its generally safe to use without sterilization. some people bake it for a bit to be cautious, but i dont. keeping this in mind however dont leave your verm bag open, seal it when youre done.

Of course not, you sterilize the jars anyway after you?ve filled them with substrate.
