HELP...Cakes in trouble

Someone turned over my friends box and the perlite that was not stearilized dumped all over the cakes. The perlite was in its own container inside just to keep humidity up. What is the best way to save the cakes from contamination now?

If they are 100% colonized it shouldn't be too much of a concern, there isn't much for the contams to get a foot-hold on. But just for safety sake (If you think it's really necessary) I suppose you could moisten a paper towel with h202 and give em a quick pat down. I have never tried it but it sounds reasonable.

Usually you don't have to worry much about contams on colonized cakes, except green mold arggghhh!. If you are paranoid enough you could just fill a spray bottle with peroxide and give the cakes a liberal spraying. They will fizz a bit and you might get a little blueing, but its ok the cakes will be fine and any would be contamination will be warded off.

I can see a world where this is no poverty and no war, I can also see us attacking that world because they would never expect it. :wink:
