My lazy-ass tek in progress
    #323767 - 05/22/01 09:34 PM (22 years, 18 days ago)

Here's what my dog said:

I was looking at my pile of jars and dirt and rice and was like "Fuck it." I remembered having seen something about sterilizing using a microwave and Tupperware, so I scrounged up a 4x8x12 inch container and dumped ~5 jars worth of substrate in it. Poked very tiny holes in the lid with a pin and nuked for a long-ass time, which I hope didn't dry it out. Then, I innoculated with a EQ mycelium suspension from Shroom Wizard, which, of course, contains no psilocybin or psilocin. Put in a dark drawer.

Maybe once a day, I push down the top of the Rubbermaid containter, thereby creating a little "whoosh" of a tiny little air exchange.

Two and a half days later, there's something in there, but I can not yet tell what. It's very little, but Shroom Wiz says that the suspension can begin to colonize in as little as three days. So, I may as well not worry, it does no good.

The syringe was stored (not refridgerated) in a dark place since March.

Oh, and the good thing about this is that I don't have to birth! The container is conveniently shaped.

Wish my dog luck,
Schnook

As an update:

It appears that ze mycelium do in fact exist. They have a very very tiny foothold (already). Unfortunately, I may have to break open the beast and do surgery to remove contams.

The thing about this method is that I have only one container, and not a dozen. Which sucks for contams.
