the other problem is thats not the half of the damage.  the rear passenger fender is part of the unibody and it is dented and the front passenger is dented to fuck and slightly bent.  but i did manage to get it so the door can open/close now.

the other problem is there are only 2 cars of the same model in the junkyards on the island.  one is the wrong colour and the door is the luxury one.  what a fucking gyp, even the guy on the phone couldnt believe what he was reading.  fuck they are con artists.

if you are ever buying a new car dont look so much at the cost of the car, go research the cost of teh parts. ford escorts are great little cars and i love them and they are cheap, but to buy new parts if a fucking joke.

Man..seems like the good idea would be to just find a 600-800 dollar car on the side of the ride (like..early 90's Saturn, shitty caddy) and just go with that If you total that one, buy a new one.

I really like that plan...maybe I'll do that. There are tons of cars for sale that cost way less than your repairs. Given, your engine works. Are the repairs neccessary? If not, just let them be. I'd rather have 1600 bucks than fix my 99 Escort.

But that's just my opinion. Good luck with that.
