When is it best to cold shock casings?

When is the best time to "cold shock" casings?
Right after you initiate pinning?
Or after a week-10 days you have initiated pinning and there isnt any?(pinning)

What has always worked for me is the drop in temp. from incubator to terrarium. 85F down to 75F.
