if you have had your jars right side up for the whole time take and flip them over it will let the moisture run back thru to the top and some will escape out your innoculation hole(s) and might take off yet, don't give up on em yet )

C02 buildup can slow growth.

Not true at all! Lack of gas exchange will slow growth. CO2 is what myc flourishes in.

Gas exchange: The ability to release builtup gases resulting from the myc's metabolic activity (consuming substrate). A result of this inability to release these gas creates EXCESS myc piss which BTW is a normal process (myc piss) but an excess is not, it can easily stall a cake. (do not lick your cakes or leave your holes taped)

FAE (fresh air exchange) is the lowering of the co2 concentration through the introduction of fresh air plain and simple. A good fresh air exchange includes the stagnated moisture pockets of the casing surface (microclimate).

so those of you who who say too much moisture, do you mean EXCESS moisture in the bottom of the jar, or can your grain(in my case) be too moist without having anything running on the jar bottom. I was so proud of how plump my kernels were (without breaking) , but now i'm worried.

my last batch of jars stalled, and i chalked it up to NOT ENOUGH moisture in the grain. along with too much temp fluct.

I just flipped all the jars, can the spores die in the jars? Or is there a chance to revive the growth?
