This is a pic of af's first two mushies, picked yesterday. they're not that big but they're a start. Cultivation is so fun and rewarding. Af would like to say thanks to everyone who helped him out and he want's to say that this site rocks, it's provided him with so much info. Thanks, and keep on shroomin'!

I remember the first time I harvested my own home grown mushrooms. What a rush. I felt like a kid at Christmas.

yeh getting your 1st babies is great, i remember i was so impatient and check em every day, i made only one mistake-not drying em properly, you should get CaCl and make a dessicant chamber.

Oh yeh i still have my 1st 2 mushies in a jar, i love this hobby I just bought a 30L bag of verm.

I used the shroom wizards substrate tek, but decided to birth one cake and case the rest. those two came from the cake. I just put the cake on damp verm on the lid, and damp verm on the top of the cake and put in clear tupperware box with perlite humid. I do have desicant, but those two were picked yesterday so they didn't dry all the way. my first pic i took was better but it was too big.

They are GT's. They started to grow down then curled up. I think i have the cake upside down. Am i supposed to set it in the terrium the same way it came out of the jar? My cousin and I had them, we really didn't trip but we got a great body buzz. Thanks again everyone.

yeah, af also has a casing that is pinning. a couple of them have already broken the veil, but they're not that big. the caps are as big as a pennie, and the stems are real skinny and long. They are golden teachers from the spore works. I thought golden teachers got big. Could I be using too much light, it's on about 15 hrs a day, from when i get up to wen I go to bed.
