PLEASE HELP MY CASINGS

I recently (1 month ago) placed 4 cakes in a terrarium, and they are flushing like mad... Great!
BUT
I also cased 15 cakes in straight vermiculate over three weeks ago and I've seen nothing but a 2" mushroom pop up.
I had the casings in a dark closet for 2 1/2 weeks, but never say it re-colonize, so I placed the casings in a terrarium, but nothing.

What can I do????

Assuming your keeping the casing moist, there aint much you can do. I`ve had this happen to me, only to finally "dig" for the truth and found a huge layer of slime mold. Do an exploratory, cut a small section of the casing out, down to the bottom, and tell me what you see. The fact that your casing layer never colonized points to some kind of problem.

Check your casing layer thickness as well. My friend has often had delayed fruiting because of the thickness of the casing, Thats why she now just uses a sprinkle tecnique and barely covers the substrate. The trick when using this tecnique is to have a very humid growing chamber.

fatlips--puscle has it down--there is a problem somewhere, most likely contams. if i don't see some pretty substantial growth within a week, i grow quite suspicious...
