anybody ever play jackal by konami. 2 jeeps on the desert from top view. popular arcade game. i played the game since i was 6 and can now beat the game in about 20 minutes. that end tank still gets me every time though. im pissed to this day that they didnt make a jackal 64 or some other jackal game. im seriously thinking about writing nintendo a letter (which i would never do) cause it would be awesome for the game boy advance sp.
anyways it was jackal, contra, blades of steel, excitebike

somebody reply to this and i wanna know your thoughts on jackal!!!!

    #3183692 -

so i wasnt around last night, and a couple of roommates had a few friends over who brought over this clod from Green Bay...
long story short he fell in a stupor of his own alcohol induced ignorance, and to catch his hulking frame he grabbed what he could...the 8-bit system of course, and knocked ot to the ground. it doesnt seem to work anymore...

See, this is why i cant have nice things... :smirk:

people from Green Bay are retarded drunk hill-billies!
i must Boo them.

I was thinking about taking out the old NES and playing Destiny of an empire again. I remember that game being good. Funny, most of these games I remember as good don't seem so good. Except for punch out. So many games I never beat then 10 years later, I get stuck at the exact same spot again.

The games I really miss are Guerrilla Wars, I think Konami made this game.  All you basically do is run around with I think infinite continues and rapid fire guns in an overhead view blowing EVERYTHING up in your path.  It's real fun.

Another game none of you mentioned was Crystalis.  Wow that game was cool if you could get past the initial 30 minutes of not knowing anything about the game, and the lack of information telling you where to go.

Zelda 1 and 2 should never be forgotten.

Also, U,U,D,D,L,R,L,R,A,B,Select,Start

Contra rocked.

Umm.. someone mentioned super dodgeball, that game kicked ass too.  Nothing like whipping someone in the face from Sam's super throw.

As far as Excite bike goes.. I never REALLY got into that game.  I played it a lot and liked to make my own tracks, but it could never compare to say, Zelda 1 or SMB3.  I guess Excitebike was a bit older than SMB3 though.

A last note:

   Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

mario games were never that cool to me, of course i played part 1 every once in a while, but part 2 and on were just, eh.

i used to have the mario bros/duck hunt/track and field 1 cartridge, and i had that floor mat pad, i used to beat the shit out of the cheeta in track and field, then i got older and my running slowed down, but i was the only person who could beat that game.

Ha yeah I could beat that power pad game when I was really young (vibrating my feet kinda) even with the hurdles. I should try it again and see if I can still beat it.
I beat my brother and sister most of the time on the olympics or whatever (has long jump, triple jump, race, etc.)

Ah memories. Zelda 1 and 2, all the Marios (2 and 3 especially). I always had a weird affinity for Mario 2. I love it. Exite Bike was good and Contra. So many others...

I was a subscriber to Nintendo Power for many years.

Do you know why Mario 2 was so different from Mario 1, 3, or any other mario for that manner?

I mean, all other marios have pipes, koopas, gumbas, and question mark blocks, but mario 2 you pulled up vegatables and caught floating hearts.

This is the reason why: Mario 2, as Americans know it, was really a Japanese game called 'Doki Doki Panic' modified to have Mario, luigi, Princess, and toad. The reason? well, the REAL mario 2 was basically recycled bits from the original Mario Brothers, but REALLY HARD levels. Too hard, in fact, for Americans. Americans did finally get to play the REAL Mario 2 when it was released as part of the Super NES 4-in-1 Game 'Mario All-Stars'... We know it as 'Mario Lost Levels' (scroll down about halfway to see Mario @'s history
