If you lost your memory...

Do you think you could discover what kind of person you were by studing the contents of your bedroom? Try this excercise:
Stand up from your computer and walk out of the room, closing the door behind you. Take a few deep breaths and then walk back into the room. What do you see? Do these objects reflect you as a person? How?
My room is messy, there is clothing on the floor and junk on the desk. My bed is unmade. There is a ferret in the corner of the room, but there is no evidence of it's name. The few exotic posters I have are mismatched, and some are hung crooked. The door frame is broken and I have no idea how that happened. My pornography stash tells me I'm into girls... am I with somebody now? Do I love her?
Ask yourself these questions and maybe you'll discover something about yourself. And maybe you'll discover things that people may think of you when they come into your room.

Because you have your memory, it is hard to be objective. I'm realising what I interpret is based on who I do know myself to be. What did your doing this tell you about yourself that you didn't already know? here's one I can't interpret. My home is very elegant but my wardrobe is very casual? What does that tell me about me if I don't know me?

Not really, I bet you could tell my habits but not really who I am.. My bookshelf has such a wide assortment and I have so many random objects and there is no central theme.

That tells me you that you are searching and changing a lot in the process, never stopping to indentify yourself with anything because you havn't found "it" yet.
"it" being, what nurtures you.
This may be totally not true about you, but if you lost your memory, you might see yourself from my perspective. Isn't that freaking wierd to consider at least?

I have no bedroom right now. I guess I am nobody.

My room is clean and meticulousy tidy and organized. My bed is high, fancy and made in a very tidy manner.I have nothing on my walls. The room seems very large, very sterile, cold and unfeeling.I apparently grow various mushrooms.I also apparently conduct experiments of some sort because there is alot of lab equipment setup and alot more in a tidy cabinet. The room is well taken care of.I have loads and loads of books.Mostly on compuiters, nutrition and various forms of exercise including martial arts and weightlifting.I see the same person in pictures arranged in frames standing on various tables and cabinets. She must be very important to me.Its likely Im married to her or seeing her.I also see a very nice computer and loads of cd's containing various programs and PC games. My closet reveals very uniform clothing choices. Most of the clothing is similar in color selections.A few shades of related colors.Mostly black. There is a mini fridge full of various experiments, mycelium and lab material. There are various plants basking in the radiant glow of grow lights. The plants appear to general be short in stature and similar. They appear to be various medicinal herbs.
I must be a scientist of some sort who is involved with various flora and who is athletic and has a poor choice of color and decor.I must also be a computer geek or technician of some sort.I must also be plain, cold, unfeeling in personality.Everything seems so drab and plain.

Well, how about this.. I'll list what stands out most if you were to see my room, and you take a stab.
You enter. To your left is a dresser covered in empty mt. dew cans, two pints of scotch mostly full, several assorted almost-empty bottles of liquor. to your right is a pile of clothes, hawaiian shirts, business shirts, baggy dirty jeans and pants you can wear to the office. The only footwear in sight are a pair of worn sneakers and a pair of black engineer boots. Also to your right there is an M1 Garand and a 1903 Springfield. Taking another step in, to your left is a computer with a full ashtray on the disk. On the wall is a picture dated 1976 of a man sitting on a broken toilet next to a river; the rest of the title reads " 'TH(e st)INKER; 2:28pm, 2 August 1976 'Swatty' Expedition". On the desk there is a small Beatles Yellow Submarine lunch box christmas ornament, and on the floor another bottle of scotch and honey liqueur. To your right is a full bookcase, with books atop and on the floor below. er.. I know listing them would be much more definative and clear but seriously there's like over 300 of them.. we'll just shorten it, Frank Herbert, Tolkien, King, many history, philosophy, psych/soc books. Another step takes you to, on the right, a bed. Unmade, TV set at the foot on another dresser, SNES and VCR attached. To your left is a door, beyond which lay a small bathroom. Next to the bed there are two swords, one is recognizable as a nazi dress sword, the other upon inspection is dated 1874 and marked S.A. on the other side, the first letter being unintelligable. There are a dozen more books on the floor next to the bed, laying open face-down. In the bathroom there are several used razors, toothbrush and whatnot, along with 4 books open on the floor, two about medieval europe, one about politics, and Alice in Wonderland. Next to the bathroom door is a small stand with a deer tale, large feathers on top. A small snippet of dried roses beneath. There are no other pictures or posters in the room.
Conclusion?

OMG its the unabomber.
In all seriousnes...Hmmm...You must drink frequently enough and like alcohol.Late 20's to early maybe mid 30's.Definitely male.Bit of a dreamer. Not too worried about tidiness.Relaxed easy going kind of person.Possible service background or interest.Navy maybe.Likely into various psychedelics considering a seeming interest in the beatles yellow submarine movie/album and the alice in wonderland book.Generally care free.

You're not a drinker. Well, you are, but you're not an alcoholic or those mostly full scotch bottles would be empty.

No clue as to what is an M1 Garand and a 1903 Springfield, but your clothes show that you're in some type of business, but when you're not doing business, you like to be casual.

You smoke? And you like paradoxes.
On the desk there is a small Beatles Yellow Submarine lunch box christmas ornament, and on the floor another bottle of scotch and honey liqueur.
You received the ornament as a Christmas gift, possibly at a business Christmas party or a family party, and you still haven't put it away. But this would mean that maybe you haven't yet accumulated momentos enough of this kind so you are young.
And you don't often decorate for Christmas or you would have put this ornament away with the rest of your Christmas ornaments.

You are a thinker, or were a student, or both.

You're not a T.V. watcher. You like to play games. There are more important things to do besides make your bed.

Yep, definitely a thinker. Not a student. May have been a student at one time, but now on the road to enlightment.

goin in my room, you see a bunch of metal posters, swimsuit calendar, things i find on the street stuck to my wall, concert tickets, a bottle of absolute, pictures from New York, then you have my pc w/ an open case, my turntables, my guitar, my keyboard, a tv, some weights, a buch of shot glasses, and 2 small buddist statues............
So that means, im a depressed alchoholic that goes to concerts and finds things on the floor for no reason. The weights and tv means I just got out of jail and am about to take over the world throught the use of a computer.....yep thats about right

Heh wow, I'd say yall actually got pretty close to me with that. The Navy comment was real weird -- I wasn't in the service, but my dad was in the Navy for quite a while (still have his peacoat actually, it's my winter coat.. never seen anything as warm as that thing, plus it's an old one with big silver buttons ).
Gomp I can't analyse that other than to say THAT IS TOO PIMP-TIGHT I SEE THAT PROJECTOR OO! everything's either wood, or electronics :o you're an oaken terminator?

Hmm...interesting idea!
My room, upon first glance, appears quite spartan in nature. The number of books, laying in piles on the floor or on a bookshelf, would indicate that I tend to read a lot. The books themselves are either sci-fi/fantasy fiction or non-fiction mostly related to the sciences. There are a few biographies of famous figures and a few works of classical literature. Aside from books, the most obvious set of items are all electronic in nature. Computer. Game console. Boxes of very old computer parts and assorted electronics. The room is tidy, yet obviously the cleaning is done haphazardly: there are semi-organized piles of assorted objects around the room. In contrast to the piles of "junk" is the closet. The bottom of it is obscured by another pile of stuff, but the clothes themselves seem to placed in a specific order. The hangers themselves are spaced in an exacting manner (wow...I never really noticed that before!) which indicates a personality riddled with precision. Many of the piles appear to have remained there untouched for quite some time (I know what this indicates, but only because it's me and I already know why the piles appear like this). The walls are all completely bare and painted white. Dirty clothes are, for the most part, in a laundry basket...though some seem to be tossed in various directions.
Though I can't help but wonder: how would someone else view this room?
