casing advice

well, this is not a terribly "advanced" question, but not terribly basic either--hope you all don't mind.

greetings! one week ago my lizard cased a well-colonized substrate (ps. cub.) of rye, straw and worm castings with a peat-verm-lime-oyster shell mixture balanced to 7.5 ph, and there has been very little mycelium movement into the casings. the substrate is in several small shoebox-sized plastic boxes within a large plastic container. the container is unheated, but temperatures have been in the upper 70s with 95% humidity. there is no visual sign or smell of contamination. i felt that perhaps the casing was too dry, so i have started misting well, and today i ruffled the casing down to the substrate, hoping to distribute new moisture and aid in colonization.

any advice on how to proceed will be appreciated. probably, because the temps are not high, and the water saturation was perhaps not ideal, my lizard just needs to be patient, but i'd love to have any input.

put a heating pad set on low or medium and you will be fine

Lizards selling auto insurance and growing shrooms.. cooool.. Is the lid off of the small plastic shoebox? Straw/castings do well uncased also.

the lids are off of the little containers--just some plastic wrap covering the casings. do you think that if there is not some growth in a few days, that my lizard should remove the casing and try to induce pinning in the substrate itself?? my lizard has never had to wait this long for colonization of the casing in the past.

heating pads on--temps in the mid eighties now... hopefully that will jolt that mycelium into running again. i'll keep you posted, and any other advice or ideas anyone has will be appreciated.
