You should do what you love. If helping the poor is or not it. For me it is a outlet. It may be something else for you. You must understand, the magic is, rewards come for nowhere. They just appear. You will know them because, they catch you by suprize and usally end up with tears of joy.

Mabey we will meet under the sun one day soon. Life is full of turn arounds You seem like the type of person whom I would enjoy very much

What I like about your posts is that they reflect the way I think, too.  That's why I'm not afraid to give free advice over the phone, even though other lawyers say never give free advice, get them in and sign them up!

The way I see it, if my advice works, great!  No attorney's fees!  But if it doesn't work, then maybe they will call me back.

And I agree that sometimes, when you get stuck in something that seems to have no return value, there is a weird effect that leads you into places that you didn't expect, and which lead you to other benefits.

Good luck to you, Fucknuckle, on your endeavors.  You are the kind of person that should be blessed A LOT.

Charge him the most money that you think you can get from him. Your job is not a charity; you are the one that worked hard at school to get where you are. Be careful that he is bullshitting about not having any money, if he detects that you are a softy he might know exactly what he's doing.

I know. That's what I've heard justifies the money. I paid a lot to go to school. I have a lot of experience. Etc.

Also, I remember a case, once, where the client said he had no money for an attorney. It was a family law case. So I charged him a low fee. Then when it came time to fill out his financial declaration, turned out he had a savings account that he didn't want to list, because he was saving for a house and didn't want anyone to be able to get to the money in it. Sigh.

I guess I just have to be tough. Or something. I hate that I feel sorry for people and believe everyone right at the start.

Just in case this thread dies now, I really appreciated all the responses.
