I fucking hate oatmeal!  Nothing more disgusting to eat, IMO.  But, when I go backpacking I always take instant oatmeal to eat for breakfast.  That shit is the best for energy when you are gonna be packing 20 miles uphill with 60 pounds on your back!  I've tried many different foods and nothing gives me energy for the trail like oatmeal!

...too bad I have to literally gag the shit down every morning when I'm backpacking. :sad:

getting your water consistancy, air pockets, and breathing room for the mycellium would be a complete and utter nightmare. Oatmeal just mushes to much to be a good substrate.

that's why i said oat groats. that's the whole grain. similar to any other whole grain. It wouldn't be mushy liked rolled oats. probably. someone should try it!
