Tape the holes!! Steam can easily worm its way into the foil wrapping...

Oh, and use less water...60cc is too much. Shoot for about 42-45cc.

How is a raven like a writing desk?

Mix it before you load your jars, the mixture should want to clump together but just not quite hold. CaptainMax rarely has anything nice to say ignore him and don't get frustrated. Ralph gave great advice if you want to switch substrates ...good luck......

Going crazy will drive you mad, but once you get there the rest is easy.....

Using less water would of course be the obvious CaptainMax, but this formula has always worked great before. I just can't imagine what I'm doing different.
Everyone else,thanks for the hints.

I'm going to try the bird seed, why is Pennington's the seed of choice? I'm boiling the seed for 1/2 hour adding a sprinkle of gypsum and pc'ing for 1 hour with a verm layer in 1/2 pint jars. From what I've gathered from this board, this is the correct procedure.Any opposing views?
I'm trying a brand called "Brown's" it contains mostly millet, some cracked corn and just a few sunflower seeds.
