prefilter for hepa? cant figure out blower, have read faq.

this is not a furnace filter being used a a pre-filter for dust and hair--this is a 5 inch thick metal grated hepa pre-filter/moisture separator. i just bought a hepa filter of the same size (24x24) except 12 inches thick and am considering working this into my flowhood model. I dont know if i really want to spend the extra money though, but it sounds quite dope. Id probably put a furnace prefilter on before the fan still, and have this right before the hepa. Any thoughts? its 130 more dollars after shipping and im not wealthy by any means. im seriously considering this though. Let me know what you think.

the filter and prefilter together will make the resistance 2.13 i think, and just a little bit more if i used a furnace filter. Im looking to buy a fan for it used and am having trouble finding specs sheets for different blowers, so if anyone could help me figure out a cfm or anything to recommend (bc i dont know quite how they differ at different resistances and how they are figured out) it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

simply call around to some AC repair companies, many have some pulls that they are more than willing to give away... grab a couple of different sizes...
