I just found a couple that are growing wild in my pasture...

shortly after the flower start to wilt take a piece of cheese cloth and wrap them, secure it with a twist tie and you catch the seeds regardless of when they fall.

depending on your area i would say another month. in my experience with morning glories its more a seasonal thing. i have had individual flowers last a couple months before dieing back and seeding. With many types in my climate it starts seedin noticeably in september as the plant dies back in october (usually)

 yes indeed I can see that the flowers arn't red, but I was just asking my self if the plants with those kind of LEAVES were active... All the active varieties that I've seeen had oval-shaped leaves... But hey, no big deal, I suppose you will be able to tell us in a month or so..

The active ones look like this:

That?d be the plant in the middle, the pink flowers are petunias and some other funky vine on the left.

yeah they are quite an invasive weed...but it looks really great in the early morning. The wild morning glorys have a much smaller flower then the ones that are bred for their showy blooms....any info on the wild morning glory being active?

I have 3 Morning Glory vines growing ATM. Two are outside and one is in my room, climbing up my window. I bought the seeds at a Walmart or Canadian Tire and they are labeled as such: Morning Glory: Flying Saucers. The picture on the front of the seed package shows purple and white flowers (both colours are present on each individual flower). Are these morning glories active (can I eat the seeds when prepared properly and feel the desired effects)?

Booooom, your MG looks like an Ipomea indica...I've seen these around the place where I live, but I've never seen them set seed. I'm not sure if its just that they don't set seed at all, or if it's that they need to be pollinated by another plant or what...and even if they do set seed, I'm not sure whether or not they contain any LSA...I'd look into it if I were you.

That is a good question.

Will my indoor grown morning glories seed if they are indoors?

zee werp - I obtained this plant from where i work....in a nursery/flower store....it was already very mature...but do u think that the brokers that ship this stuff in are hip to the "active" varieties? Because many of the plants we sell are genetically mixed, spliced, and many plants can only be reproduced by making cuttings. So i have to look into the exact strain next time im workin.

P.S.
Oh and i dunno you guys might find this amusing...many of the plants we get in have a tag with information on the plant, then in small letters it says "Asexual reproduction of this plant prohibited by law" I guess now you can copyright a plant

I always figured you couldn't get those tags on a car because of being "inapropriate". Weird.

I had no idea Bill Gates got into the plant business.
