It's me Desiree, was desireesden2003.

I always hated that name. Anyways, after much begging they've changed my name for me!! Yay.

I'm now just Desiree...thanks Anno!

I think this shorter version's much better, too, good job.

I've been wanting to get my name changed to something else for a while but didn't know who to ask.

Heh heh, well then I won't ask. I can live with being OneMoreRobot, though in my heart I'll always feel like I'm trapped behind some cheap facade....[cue sobbing]

It's a flaming lips song, One More Robot 3000-21, about the first robot to experience emotion, and the first emotion he experiences is sympathy.

Well if you're not listening to The Flaming Lips at all, you're missing out on a world of goodness..

Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots
The Soft Bulletin

Two amazing albums, and then there's also the two sets of their early work:

Finally the Punk Rockers Are Taking Acid
and
The Day They Shot a Hole in the Jesus Egg

Well, I personally think in the last 20 years a lot of bands that started in the early 80's/late70's have seen genres being played to death so I tend to think of the Flaming Lips as one of these bands that eschews notions of genre, like Bjork or Radiohead or Sigur Ros or The Music, etc....I mean, I think of them as part of my rock and roll collection but they're really electronic too and spacey and psychedelic. They started as a punk band in 1980, got into acid together, and they juist write crazy intense music - The Soft Bulletin is oneof the must have albums of all time ever.

Oh, I do listen to them. Just not as much as I'd like to. I listen to all genres of music, but depending on my mood, I sometimes stick to just one. I tend to forget about how good all the other stuff is.

I've just never heard that song before.
