Some jars which are suitable for your purposes are labeled "Salmon Jars". Canadian Tire is more than just tires..

If you go to Canadian Tire ask for "Bernardin", and unless that's the name of the manager or something they will show you to the jars you are looking for, they have the squart widemouth 1/2 pints (250ml). I also saw pints, and I think quarts, all Bernardin.

Cambodian Tire does have the "low-form" jars as well. I bought em, they aren't normal jars, they are labeled as "Salmon Canning Jars". They are like $5-$6 more expensive then regular jars :P $12.45 if I remember correctly. For uhm, 12.
