Hmmm - do they have half liters? That may work better - closer in size to half-pints. PFanaticus has their site in French, with metric mesurements. You could take a look at that as a guideline, though I can't be sure that it's accurate.

I would simply take the BRF/verm recipe and mix up a small batch of it. Load it into the jar of your choice, keeping it light and airy. Then empty it out and see how much you used. I dunno.

It's like cooking - a dash of this, a pinch of that, you know! :smile:

I went to Wal-mart the other day and they had all the sizes of jars. They had wide-mouth 250ml and 500ml (1/2 pint and pint for our American friends). They even had the short, squat, wide-mouth 1/2 pints. Try your local Wal-mart. This was in Southern Ontario, don't know where you may reside.

In Canada, I could not find the american jars Ball and Kerr. I could only find Benardin jars. I could find these EVERYWHERE. Wallmart, Grocery stores, and CANADIAN TIRE.

They have the wide mouth 1/2 pints which I suggest you use. They aren't tapered like the american equivalent. they look like this:
|_| compared to \_/ but the cakes slide right out no problem after colonization. (Well not slide out, you have to smack them lol)

Save On Foods carries low form 250ml bernardins (that's your classic half pint). 9 bucks, I think. Buy Canadian.
