Tractor conversations? I had to check and make sure I wasn't reading in OTD threads but there haven't been any goat emojis yet, so

Here's some ego death for you. Hoisted my mower in a tree yesterday to change the drive belt. It's still there cuz the hoist won't go down.

You could just leave it there as a warning to all the other tractors, keep ‘em off your property.

Or cut down the tree? I love trees, but I also love cutting them down. I just cut down a red maple this morning.

I have no qualms about cutting trees in this area. It's supposed to be a field anyway, but it's becoming more of a meadow.

But when I play it out mentally, it involves me shoving the tree sideways at the last minute.
Luckily I have time to think about it as I will spend the day crawling around under a house running thermostat wire. :crazy2:

Cutting down the tree will likely cause more problems. I am not just saying this as a tree lover.

The weight of the lawnmower is pulling the tree in the direction of the lawnmower, unless you are very comfortable with tongue and groove felling there is probably a better option.

Have you tried soaking the chain pulley in a solvent like PB blaster, relieving the pressure by rolling the rear wheels forward and then operating the chain pulley?

Just fell it sideways. The same you'd do with a widowmaker or storm-damaged tree. The majority of the mower weight is on the ground and axial wood is incredibly strong.

Just my 2C. Felled a lot of trees

Is that the harbor freight chain hoist? Love hate relationship with that bastard. Usually when it gets stuck it's one of the chain links getting lodged at a weird angle or otherwise stuck to each other, solution is usually some combo of an angle that relieves enough tension to get play, and a good hard whack.

used those same hoists when I scored a free craftsman v-twin garden tractor on CL cause it had been abandoned for years. Got it running, turning it into a giant glowing crab art car... eventually. been slacking on that project lately

Haha yeah was a good night.
Actually was like a religious night I don't even know. I felt some things.

I can't quite put it into words but basically the opposite of anxiety. Like I was staring into the very essence of bad but knew that I was okay.

I also even able to forgive someone who hurt me.

I love nangss
I don't think theyre healthy though. Not really addictive like beyond the night you're doing them but absolutely moreish at the time of intake. Definitely zapped a few cells but to learn what I learnt I don't really mind.

I'm scared Kloakk, the subtropicalis print was so very faint that I had a hard time seeing if I got any spores into my glass that I used up pretty much the whole print to make one syringe. I hope I can clean it up on agar because I don't have another attempt :uhoh: I intended to throw some in pf-cakes for the hell of it but I changed my mind when I saw how few spores I have to work with, so agar first.

Oh man, so sorry to hear that

I got even worse news though, it's been a while since I sent you the print but I recently sent a print to another member from the same batch of prints and his didn't germinate at all :cryariver:

So here's what we can do:

Option one: I'll send you a wedge from my own culture next week.

Option two: I just spawned 1 tub and 2 trays of Subtropicalis HVC and unless they shit the bed I'll have fresh spores in a couple of months.

Option three: I can have my wife film me as I cut off my own finger Yakuza style because I failed to do the task I signed up to do.

Save your fingies, you need them to cultivate.  I'll let them sit in the syringe for a day and then get some plates going. Hopefully the soak will rejuvenate the spores a bit. If they don't germinate then we can see what to do, but it's no biggie. At my rate of cultivation I am busy til kingdom come anyway :tongue2: I just nocced some cakes with ESS and more Syzygy and I'll use the rest of the syringes to gets agar cultures going too

If you get clean growth, get your Kloakk to grain, spawn and once the rest of the Kloakk has grown, let him do all your cult work for you.

Keep away from dehydrators; Kloakks aren't up to those temps.

Thanks homie, that is a good option, the thing is, we are almost neighbors, but it's up to him. Just know that the print I sent was just over a year old.
