Hello everyone, this is my first post here.

I would like to more or less introduce myself. I am around 30 years old and I am from Spain.

Around 6 years ago I started to learn about psychodelic mushrooms and since then I have been wanting to cultivate and try them. I want to be able to break free from my preconceptions and improve myself.

From this year's Frebruary I started to actually test how to cultivate some spores that I bought.

I have had nice success on agar, not so much when moving to grain.

At the beginning of October I started a PF TEK cake and it is already birthed but without pinning yet. Later I would like to share that cake with you all and see if I can manage to finally grow them.

Thank you very much for your replies.

I will now share my cake pictures and hopefully I can finally generate some pinning.

I made the cakes on October the 3rd.
I inoculated the cakes with agar on October the 10th.
I birthed the cake into a Shotgun Fruiting Chamber on October 26th.

As of today I am not able to see any pinning, primordia. The mycelium looks healthy (or at least I think so), there are no smells, etc…

The analog temp and humidity display seems to be broken. Two other digital ones read 17.7-17.9 celsius and 99%humidity.

I have a tiny 5w heating mat, should I place it inside, outside at the bottom? Should I even place it?

I now attach a few images.

I would really appreciate any pointers or help. Should I fan? Should I mist? Should I do anything at all?

I am currently fanning 3 times a day (morning, midday and before sleeping) I also mist if I do not see any tiny water beads on the mycelium.

Those humidity meters seem to break in the conditions we like to grow cubes in. Don't really recommend em.

You'll see better results at 23c-24c. Heat mat might get you there.

How much water is in the bottom with the perlite? you'll want it quite wet to hold humidity.

We recommend a water tub for cakes these days.

You could also try giving them a coco coir coating for extra moisture.

It's hard to see your surface conditions from these photos but a light mist from a good distance might help if they seem really dry.
Usually don't recommend misting if you can avoid it tho.

Thank you very much! I will try.
I just plugged the heating mat (outside, below the SGFC, or would it be better inside?)
The perlite feels moist.

As I understand the water tub would be using a box like those from IKEA, have some water at the bottom, then place the cake separated from the water, close the lid and wait, when it is fully colonized, we have a small FAE and just lightly mist.

Do you think it would be more viable for me to do this approach now rather than continuing with the SGFC?

Keep the mat outside of the box. :thumbup:

Did you dunk your cakes before sending them to fruit?
Like a long 20hr soak in water?
This step is important. :heartpump:

You can use your same tub.
Fill it up with water, and get a raised grate type platform for your cakes to rest on.
The gate will ensure better temperature and humidity regulation on all sides of your cakes.

You may want to dunk again before putting them back in your tub.
If you haven't dunked at all then dunk em for sure.

I follow this guide step by step when I make cakes personally.

I realize you might not have everything you need to make the switch right now, you could keep them in the SGFC just make sure the perlite is quite hydrated.

I soaked the cake for about 16hours before placing it on the Shotgun Fruiting Chamber.

I think I will have to use another box (I have a smaller 5 liter Samla box) because this one I am using is fully covered in holes.

I can dunk and then move to the smaller box and into a cardboard box with the heater to have a better temp control.
