Yes, but just because it's climbing the walls and looks wet AF. A broader picture would be needed for true assessment.

Broarder picture in the one showing two jars.

That's just how the v-tek ended up.

Found some tweezers sterilised them and pulled a few threads out to agar.

Couple of days on agar, one thread taken from that wet jar with tweezers, looks promising. First real rhizomorphic growth I have seen on this culture.

Well it's time to update the community. I must prostrate myself here and admit that I cried wolf early. Perhaps my inexperience and hasty post can be excused.

I thought to myself, well if this batch is toast, what've I got to lose by trying something. So yes, I did douse a spoon in alcohol, put the mono in the SAB and went to work. Upon closer inspection (I avoided opening the mono and sticking my head over it while it was in my cabinet when I FIRST noticed the fuzzies) after carving out some gray fuzzy sections of sub I could detect colonized grains that had been very close to the surface. Up close it looked like myc so I said screw it and replaced the cover and stuck it back in the cabinet to see what would come of it.

To my pleasant surprise I was rewarded with patches of snow that continues to spread. And here is what it looks like as of Tuesday 11/3:

Thy shall try to wait to properly identify myc from contam before donning thy Chicken Little persona!

I wasn't expecting gray and I certainly wasn't expecting a result on the surface in < 24hrs. But now I'll know that growth can be quick. I think I got tripped up by a similar look on the surface of the mono and what turned out to most definitely be mold (cobweb perhaps) on the shitake clone plate which is now residing and propagating freely in nature.

Thanks to the community here for your support and well deserved spanking. I'm looking forward to seeing some pins soon!
