I worked at a confection manufacturing facility myself. would that count as machine operator, and is the pay better than average line worker because of the added responsibility, and are you entering into it fresh?

I've worked as a machine Operator for a total of 7 years split between two jobs.  I'm hoping that machine Operator experience will get me the job.

Edit: I think the pay is about average for that type of work Pepsi paid $25 an hour for a machine Operator position but that's Pepsi.
