Don't worry about it. Just wander around like a drunk whore, stumble into some threads, fire off random pm's ... that's all there is to it.

I guess it is a lot like highschool.

never used to be like that...then a bunch of new people registered with nothing more to do than add to the shittiness. makes you not want to come back. the shroomery's golden age has passed, all that is left to happen is the ruin. but summer is here! let's go to the beach and look at chicks!

You'ld think looking at chicks would be the cure for depression. Sometimes though, it only makes things worse. Then your back at The Shroomery. I miss Chemical Monkey. At least we still have Smack31, and me. Yeah, I guess this place is getting less underground. This is still my favorite website though.

this is probably said on every message board on the internet that has comparable rate of use. No one is forceing anybody to respond to the dumb-ass threads, and at least there is OTD so people can post stupid crap at will, I love the Shroomery, it has a little bit of everything I like, Specifically, Art and Philosophy, and while the threads are not always profound and meaningfull, at least anybody who wants to can participate in discusions and use this great source of information. As for elietists who think their shit don't stink because they were around back in the day, they are only cool if they let their actions do the talking and don't complain. All you can really do is make intelligent posts/threads and hope others learn from the example. One of the best things about the Shroomery is the fact that it can, at times, seem like a circus, you have all kinds around here, and I think thats better than a bunch of people with theire nose up in the air thinking they are some sort of gift to the planet. The Shroomery, like the world, is what you make it. And after all, every once in a while, you do get those really great discusions where people actually learn stuff, and that alway's makes the shitiness seem to not even matter.

with each day moving farther and fewer between.

no one forces replies to dumbass threads, but when they wash away the cool ones that actually have quality content.................................
i guess OTD is just for 'stupid crap' now, what i mean is it never used to be like that.

I still love it here, despite all the bullshit and drama that sometimes takes place the people of the shroomery are some of the best people in the world!

I never really knew those people manly because I was very turned off by the OTD forum the first few times I visited there. So I stayed away and for the most part still don't post there.

I have not been around here long enough to know, so I wont argue with you about this.

But even if OTD never used to be like that, you need to have a place for meaningless threads, sometimes people just want to shoot the breeze, and I think the shroomery is better for having a place for it, that way it's at least a little more controlled, and not in forums were it does not belong. And once again, I will say, as a Shroomery vet, you should take it upon yourself to set an example for the newer members, it's the only way to make a diference. If you just complain and newb-bash then you are really no better than the newer members who can make this place seem shitty at times, and your vet status means nothing then. :smirk:

you're really set on this veteran thing....what i meant with 'all these new people joining' is that some like to act stupid just because it's the internet i guess. i don't know....but i guess otd and some others are the real ones that went down the drain. i wasn't noob bashing or anything.

for otd, meaningless threads...yes maybe, but not feckless pices of shit simply to add to your post count and other similar bullshit.

and i don't usually complain....i'm not really a complainer, but lately while i've been bored, i can't kick it at the shroomery anymore because of all the heaps of bullshit.

I'm not even talking about different forums "going down the drain," really. I just think it's really odd that some people only post in OTD and others only post in S&P, etc. It's almost like each forum on this website has developed its own little community.

I just think people should mix around a little more.

There's beautiful stuff at every forum. I say, expand your horizons or get out. And stuck in.
