yes, true, unless the stimulant is approached as a challenge to reach and expand calmness (which had already been experienced and practiced).

many times I have dosed and sat and stared out at flowing traffic, or leaves making shadows in the sun, enjoying the rush of blood and other body homeostatic pulses and breath.

I do that more often than intense thought and action (on co for sure, and stims in general).

[EDIT: but I usually fall asleep doing breathing meditation lying down; so even if I happen to skip my daily sitting zazen (skipped once a week on average), I still follow breath calmly as a bedtime habit as well]

Are psychedelics stimulants?

I have found that running and dancing very calming. So I wonder if stimulants could be calming in a sense. The known stimulants I've had are MDMA and ritalin. MDMA was calming in a sense that I had no negative thoughts but it was obviously very physically stimulating kinda like when I dance hard. Ritalin also calmed my mind and made me able to focus.

So I wonder also if those with ADHD find stims more calming than usual. I'm sure if I did meth I would be absolutely hyper like anyone else tho.

LSD is a bit of a stimulant

MDMA is also called a psychedelic amphetamine. Serotonin can be both calming and stimulating

even if amphetamines can calm me down momentarily, they're still stimulants...

i don't think ADHD people's physiology is so much different than others, but i don't know

just from some thc vape, but my awareness is spreading like an upside down iridescent jelly fish - I mean like a bright fluid seeming presence, that is maybe an abstract representation of my most recent mental contents with raised eyebrows, slight grin, & looking back at me wondering why this long t-shirt looks like a dress.

I was gonna have Tampanensis for my full moon trip, but when I realised I hadn't had cubes by themselves in a few years I felt excitedly nostalgic & opted for a mix, some Yeti




and some Nutcracker (inb4, nutcracker IS yeti...)

Challanging trip in several senses, hard to let go &/because my body felt poisoned- which I feel now is from eating capsules.

I'd even capped em loose with that in mind, but something about the timeline dissolving often makes me sick as hell, moreso than forcing down freshies or any liquid concoction- even with the shroom bits left in! It can be very satisfying, psychedelically speaking, but I notice the trend tht it leaves my bod thinking it's poisoned.

At one point I was feeling so nauseous, some recent psychological life stuff was then playing on me- funny how "mind manifesting" works in & out/ coming & going; like when I'm tripping and feeling so positive & good in my body it's as though the world is smiling on me, when feeling rough or ill it's like every thought can become a message of doom.

Put on Opeth album "pale communion", a little drawin & artbook, mainly was moon and star watching, the moon was so bright & lending quite gorgeous, surreal layering to clouds and plants.
My flat became unfamiliar, like an alternate house to find where to piss, distorted dimensions.
Then after, I went to bed & just laid with eyes closed, making into bed quietly was a total mission and the dark of the room was lit of little bursts of OEV embers off stuff, showing the shrooms still to have a lot of life left in them.
One of my cats seemed to sense the energy and became goblin like, he was making really weird chirps like 1/2 insect 1/2 cat :lol: and I could hear him going places in the room he's not supposed to. But the room seemed massive and hard to pin down where he was. My gf was getting woke up by it I lay perfectly still pretending to sleep cos I wasn't feeling ready to talk to anyone, so then all the cat misbehaviour was making it hard not to laugh my ass off, like when he licked her eyelid haha.

Still, overall a  now that I had a good sleep I feel my spirits are nicely lifted. I feel humbled by shrooms when they're strong like that & grateful for psilocybin!
Takaway seems I have to stick in a bit more with my mental hygeine. Life's quite allright though.
