The reality is because execution isn't a nationally accepted thing, not all lethal injections are the same, in fact many aren't even similar. Because chemicals that explicitly kill people are rarely produced, each state that carries out death sentences has to make their own cocktail to varying degrees of success and humane quality.

I've heard of executions taking hours using a paralytic as part of it, part of it a chemical to shut down lung function etc etc. To the point where someone will be paralyzed and slowly suffocating for hours or convulsing or a myriad of different fates.

If we were humane about it we'd just have em overdose on fentanyl. Give them 3 grams of fentanyl and call it good.

In that scenario wouldn't it be up to the victim to decide their fate and not you?

After somebody had liquid fire pumped into their veins twice in a row. That's a lot of suffering and I don't know if she'll fully recover.
I know the state she lives in will try again but I'd like to ask the question does this count as cruel and unusual punishment?
Somebody brought up a really good point. fentanyl is super easy to kill people with, happens all the time.

So why can't they use that and painlessly kill these people?

Because they want them to suffer as much as possible because they're not good people. That's why because if this was a mechanical system they put in place. There wouldn't be botched executions.

Your muscle flexing and perceived hunger for strength doesn't really translate into this. A country that executes people publicly doesn't come off as strong and it doesn't make their people feel safe.
It makes you feel like you live in a horrible country that feels like they need to smash people into a paste to force people to capitulate to their rule.
It's a sign of totalitarianism it's not a good thing by any means and I don't think we should be pushing for more of it.

I support execution for adult pleasure and malice driven killers. They can't be rehabilitated nor trusted in society and I'm not inclined to pay for their existence.

Firing squad is instant and painless, way better than every other execution method imo.
