This may sound crazy
    #2966513 -

But does anyone have any experiences with living in a tent? If you live in a warm place like, say, California, and have one of those big tent like things over your home tent to keep the rain from flooding it, a propane stove to cook and boil water, a clean stream and water filtration system, sleeping bag, and a job to buy drugs and food, then why isn't it possible? You can partially separate yourself from the system, while living with nature and not having to pay rent, water, electricity or heat

You could work out the rest of the details there, and after all, humans used to live in worse. Does anyone have any comments or experiences with this?

Yeah, I've been seriously considering it. If you're not a very materialistic person, and don't mind a bit of hard work, it wouldn't be that bad

If you get evicted from your apartment and need a cheap place to live, tents are the way to go.  When my husband and I were having roommate problems we considered living in a tent.

Unfortunately, I get quickly tired of it.  Everything feels dirty and during the summer it's wickedly hot and then there's the bugs.

Of course, you may have better results and enjoy it more then I did!

I could see myself doing that, than i could see myself getting tired of it real quick and going home. the real problem would be making incom. Not alot of people will hire you if your living out of a tent. But than again, you just gotta be covert about it. Frog said she's a homeless lawyer or something.
My mom, and aunts and uncles back in there hippie days camped out on lake travis for several months.

when it comes to people, it IS all how you present yourself for them to interpet you.

Sadly, living in a tent sounds like you are just trying really hard to make it a pain to present yourself in a good manner.

You're right, presentation is everything.  I lived in my truck at Wal Mart for a few months while I was looking for an accounting job and even for a few weeks after I found work.  One of my co-workers was shocked as hell when I told her where I "lived."

And Frog pulls it off even better than I did - you'd never guess if you saw her dressed for court.  Was kinda fun going out to pool bars when we were both homeless "professionals."  I love fucking with people's assumptions about me.

But the problem is, how do you shower... probably a bad idea to goto work smelling like shit everyday, where do you goto the bathroom, what do you use to wipe your ass with, how long can you keep it up, how do you get to ther store/work/wherever you need to go, if you don't have a car, your fucked. if you do have a car, then this might be possible, however, how long could you keep it up for really, how do you have female encounters?

Ravus: Hey, wanna go back to my place?
Ravus' Female friend: sure

***Ravus and his female friend drive home***
Ravus' Female friend: haha, that's funny, your little brother is camping in the backyard!!!
Ravus: No, that's my place.
Ravus' female friend: take me home, now, no wonder you smell, BASTARD

I had a gym membership and just showered there every day. It also forced me to work out 'cause I didn't want to be one of those weird people who goes to the gym only to take a shower.

Thats how alot of people live out there, not only in 2nd world and 3rd world countries, but also in the states. I dont know how many do it by choice though.

Why not just go on welfare and dump the job thing in order to buy food and drugs?

i had a friend that lived at the beach in a tent under some tree cover. i imagine as long as you have a water source and food source, it's just fine. it's very possible.
