Anyone know where I can find cultures of rarer stinkhorns, or miracle tips for finding them outside?
    #29688271 -

I’ve been fascinated with stinkhorns ever since I found Phallus ravenelii growing in my backyard last October, and I’ve essentially been trying to build up a collection of as many species as I can get my hands on.

Unfortunately, there are very few culture vendors selling stinkhorns like Phallus impudicus, Phallus indusiatus, Phallus ravenelii and a possible Clathrus archeri.

This year, after waiting all the way through the year for its fruiting season, I was lucky enough to find Satyrus rugulosus, Mutinus elegans, and Pseudocolus fusiformis. I’ve been able to culture all three and I am currently experimenting with getting them to fruit.
Right now, I’m particularly focused on finding Phallus duplicatus before the weather gets too cold.

I’ve found a couple of old observations near me, but actually locating a population has been much harder than I expected!
Beyond that, there are quite a few stinkhorn species I’d love to work with, but they either don’t occur in my area or are extremely difficult to find.

Does anyone here maintain cultures of less common stinkhorns, know of vendors or collectors who work with them, or have any good tips for locating them in the wild? I’m especially interested in pretty much any species Phallus, Mutinus, Lysurus, Clathrus, Satyrus, and other less commonly encountered stinkhorns (Save for the ones that I already have).
I’m trying to establish a living collection and eventually fruit as many different species as I can in a grow tent. Any advice, leads, or even just stories about where you’ve found unusual stinkhorns would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Lol flashback to middle school thanks xD

Only places I've seen stinkhorns is in a partial woody environment which happened to be the fronts of many different schools
