No colonization of all-in-one bag from spore syringe - First Grow
    #29670344 -

As implied in the subject this is a first grow.
Ordered an all-in-one (AIO) grow bag from a vendor for manure loving shrooms and an Orissa India LS syringe (not LC) from a vendor. Both were delivered around 8/15/26. Shortly after, picked up the 44Q automated monotub from MWGK.

On 8/29/26 injected the full 10cc into the port and let it sit at 72 for two days and then moved the bag to the empty upper tub of the 44Q with the water bath set at 78. The AIO bag is sitting in contact with the tub with the cardboard shipping box over it and a digital stat inside the box and the temp is right about 76-78 at the grain layer.

Today is 9/16/26 (18-days passed) and there is no visible mycelium growth at all that can detected visually from outside the bag. Very carefully lifted the bag (which does not shift or sag at all) to inspect and can see moisture from the bag and syringe in the bottom and no visible signs of contamination or growth.

Impatient or is this simply a failure? I hear spores take 10-21 days to start to reveal white mycelium growth so thought there'd be something to see by now.

Considering buying an LC of the same strain to try in the bag. The 44Q came with its own spawn and sub bags so there is a clean setup to try if this one is a bust and if the AIO bag is now unusable.

Wait or reboot!?

mod edit:
Removed name of vendors. Violates Rule #3 in the forum rules.

Inoculating aio bags with spore solution is not recommended due to the high failure rate. The best strategy around that is to order 5-6 bags in the hope that one will succeed or learn how to grow mushrooms yourself following easy to follow teks. Look up PF-Tek for a good 'starter' method.

Spore to grains is a crap shoot at best. Spore to PF-TEK like Veggie suggested is a pretty sure bet. Vendors don't promote PF-TEK because you can do it all with stuff from the supermarket and your kitchen.

Check out the Hitchhiker's Guide and Ziran's Updated Pftek

I know you'll want some validation on your sitch but bottom line is it's probably a no-go.

Spores can take weeks to germinate, much less show mycelium. Maybe it'll work?

Thank you both for the tip. I didn't know what the failure rate was for direct LS to grain.

I'll read up on the two guides and give it another shot a different way.
