Hello everyone,
I have something interesting to report that may be surprising for some
First of all, let me address the elephant in the room: yes, Salvia is scary. We all have read the horror reports, seen the videos or go through first hand traumatic experiences. However, I would argue, these experiences were bad primarily because of set and setting. In the early days when the substance went mainstream, people had no clue what they were dealing with and would do these insanely potent extracts. Imagine taking 80g cubensis concentrated in a single inhaled hit for your first time. Or taking 2g of dmt for your first time. Do you reckon that would be a good time? Exactly. In my experience, plain leaf, whether smoked or in a quid is a very different experience. It is euphoric even though the substance is technically a dysphoric, it is entheogenic, and it has a spirit.
Personally, I do not see any interest in going above 5x extracts, I can go plenty far in this range.
Now onto the main story. As an avid psychonaut, I sorely miss having a deep trip since I became a father. I simply do not have the time or energy yet to commit to the 6 hours a mushroom trip takes. But, on the weekends when the baby is asleep, I have dabbled with some low dose changa and that keeps me content. However, I am running out of changa and I donโt have time to get more. Then, I remembered I still have a big bag of plain leaf salvia that I bought a long time ago. Sometimes, I would put it in cannabis joints but it was largely used as a filler rather than a psychoactive additive. If you hit salvia in a joint the regular way (at least my regular way) you hit it slowly, donโt let it burn too hot, hold for 1 or 2 seconds and exhale. This is great for making cannabis consumption more efficient since less thc is destroyed, but not enough to activate salvinorin. So I decided to experiment: Rolled a fat joint with roughly 50/50 grounded salvia leaves and some sativa cannabis. Furthermore, and this is very relevant to protect your soft tissue, I add a carbon filter so inhaled temperature drops as well as combustion byproducts. Then, I hit it hard. Hard enough for the tip to be red hot like a torch, and hold the smoke for 5-10 seconds. It is not that harsh because of the filter so this is easy to do, but you can also pull the filter a bit back so there is some empty space between the herbs and the filter to further cool down the smoke (be careful not to pull to the point of the filter falling ๐
).
The result was fantastic. I was hit by a rush of euphoria, faint visuals starting populating my mind, and experienced a pulling sensation: an energy trying to get me to an outer dimension. In many ways, it resembled the triptamine experience: the camnabis provided the euphoria rush, the salvia brought the entheogenic energy, the synergy between the two sprinkled some magic on top.

The best part? It is weak and fast-acting enough that I can assess whether I have taken enough, and stacks decently enough that I can go deeper on command. It reminds of changa in that sense. If you hit like a cannabis joint, you will feel the cannabis only. If you hit it like I described, it hits like a psychedelic. You can alternate between the two as you ride the ship. It will let you know when you hit the optimal zone.
So I highly recommend this combo! Plus, plain salvia leaf is super cheap, something like 5 eur for 100gs. obviously, you should be careful and take it easy the first time you try it, and donโt do it if you donโt react well to cannabis. If you decide to do it, I wish you the best travels.
