It was a busy weekend at Olympic National Park but went on an overnighter backpacking the High Divide / Seven Lakes Basin loop.  These internet WA hikers made it sound like it was gonna be easy - it was not easy.  Incredible scenery and wildlife action  life is good

Dont know all the details, wasn’t one of ours. everyone on the plane was ok, Im told the pilot was very experienced, took off on a short stretch of water on a calm, hot day(high density altitude=low performance, longer take off roll) and looks like they clipped the bank after lifting off. Keeps you on your toes for sure.
Been a rough year up here for flying, we’re going from cold wet low vis and windy, to warm and calm day by day.
The bolete are going off, but they push up on the cold wet days and bloom and get infested by bugs really quick when it warms up.

They’ll haul it out with a helicopter.

Lots of birch and king going off. Alaska is amazing.

Can't believe it's already mid August. Spent most of July camped on a beach in the Caribbean, then got floored by some sickness when I got home so haven't gotten out at all since. Today's my first day of feeling somewhat normal

Also broke my toe on said beach (and lost a chunk of it and the nail, not a fun experience in a foreign country with no medical coverage and no nearby hospital anyway), so have been trying to keep weight off it. It's healing decently now

Going to start hopefully getting out on the bike and kayak as much as I can and enjoy the last few weeks of summer.

Planning an 8 day trip to France and the Italian alps in November, then the UK for 16 days in the spring. I spent the whole time I was sick doing travel research and have found a bunch of great deals/tricks to make the travel dirt cheap.

Trying my luck snagging a trout with a Marabou jig. Water temps are way too warm, and the lake is about fished out until restocking in September.

But I had a blast, and saw/heard some Osprey chatting.
