They are very hard to induce flowering. Mine never have.

I've had my caapi for a over a year now & it's never bloomed. It was already a year old when it was given to me (rooted cutting). I guess it's not that important though, I can always make cuttings for propagation. I was just anticipating a bloom! My P. viridis stays in bloom constantly...

I don't think it will effect the potency of the leaves and cuttings though.

ummm...
perhaps your locations or the hours of sun per day in your summer is too little for it to bloom or you think it's not the case?
people always think of the rainforest as somewhere where it rains all the time but it's not like that - the intercontinental area suffers of dryness and lots of heat due to little airflow (no ocean breeze, the andes also don't help), it only starts to rain around the spring (melting andes snow evaporating and down the mountains)...
keep it dry in the autumn/winter, can't hurt... just for the scientific spirit!
but also, i think 2 years might be too little, how thick is it?

The thickest place is about the girth of a sharpie pen. It was cut and rooted in Georgia and I'm caring for it in northern Florida. It rains alot here and some times it's extremely dry. Were in the rainy season now (Huricane)!

On a side note: I think I've talked to you at the Botanical Swap Project before felixhigh. You sent me an envelope full of wild Desmanthus illinoiensis seed pods. Which by the way are growing quite nicely. Thank you!
