When I was born my immune system wouldn't react so I was in a space capsule (or whatever they're called) to keep me safe. Then when I was a kid it was the opposite and I was allergic to everything. Now I am an adult and I am once again no longer allergic to anything.

Where did my allergies go and how many I retrieve them?

:yogabunny:

Oh and it makes me mighty pissed off that Big Pharma stole my allergies!

I'm not allergic to poison ivy.

People have seen me crouching in it, or reach right into it to grab some Ovoids or what have you and panic.

Been in the woods my whole life and never once had it.

Basically the same, I get a little itchy, but I don't even get the redness, on a scale of how annoying poison ivy is for me id say like a 2/10

My uncle, who died of an overdose while selling fentanyl, told me once that I don't have a reaction to poison ivy. His logic was that he'd deliberately thrown a ball into a poison ivy patch when I was young and told me to get it, and yet I got no rash.

Eh you know what's bullshit?

Going into a job interview and having to consciously decide whether to smile here or make eye contact here, or am I making too much eye contact and look away?

Also having to explain that I have left nursing for good while the manager says "I pity you that you left nursing". Shut the fuck up, you can ask me why I left and leave it at that.

(On a positive note, the first job I went for seemed really good. I will happily take that job. The receptionists were sitting around chatting happily and seemed friendly and the manager was cool. Just the second job was fucking awkward. Tbh I should feel a bit nicer about it as the 2nd interviewer was either autistic or had a cultural background that caused her to be kinda socially inept).

As long as you don't feel like you are staring them down direct eye contact shows confidence. Smiling shows comfort and ease which also is an expression of your confidence. Don't overdo either because it comes off as Fake if you do but act as if you have every reason to be there and you have nothing to fear. They will pick up on that.

Ever had to stare at someone in the eyes for 2 hours straight?

Yeah thanks Genesis.

I'm pretty good at masking but the issue is having to mask in the first place. It's so tiring. It's the reason I left nursing, that conscious thought of "am I being weird" for 8 hours straight a day was too much :frown:

Fuck. That door destroying gif is the most used one I ever implemented on this site. I should remove it. :aweoverdose:

For job interviews you should try and crush the interviewer's hand when you shake it. Look them straight in the eye when you do so. Intently.

That blows my mind because I always thought it was just a way for insecure men to try and size each other up and psyche each other out.

Ah fuck mozzies. I have a distinct memory of being on my period and being inundated with the fuckers on a hot day. I had like no clothing so I got fucked on completely lol

Yeah handshakes are weird. Personally I don't like any form of physical touch as a first introduction and I'm surprised the place it's most seen is in a professional setting.
Tbh I barely even like hugs from best friends and family lol
