I decapitated it with a shovel. Took a few attempts cause I was holding it in place with the clamp. The goal is always to get it done in one swift motion.

Work is going to suck tomorrow.  Not the actual physical effort (I thrive on that stuff) but just "the office" style insanity of intellectually incurious eople being performative rather than genuine; having to in some small way be that myself, whilst not letting a whole raft of tiny and insignificant neuroses get to me after sitting on a seaside cliff watching humpback whales migrating up the coast with my best friend.

Life is moments followed by other moments.  Sometimes the follow up is just a fucking shitshow, though.

I work in the field for my company, often alone, but the last time we had a company-wide event where all of the office folk and field workers were attending, I found the performative nature of some of these people’s behaviour vaguely uncomfortable in a strange way.

Yeah, its weird.  Like so many of them cannot seem to be genuine, or else they fall back on behavioural tropes or get caught up in this bizarre penned in behaviour.  Almost high school level shit.

When all you've had today is bliss and connection with what's bigger than yourself, 'tis tough going back into an environment wrought from the supposedly most intelligent species on earth and finding the encounter lacking in all of what feels real and forthright and free, given what youd found just a few hours beforehand.

Anyhow, workplace people eh?  I envy your field position nuds.  Might have to find something like that.

My boss decided to get involved even though I did not request it. His partner told him about the snake and he reached out to me so I told him I was going to look into skinning it at which point he started giving me instructions about putting it on ice. When he met up with me to put the snake on ice it was still writhing around in it's death throes and I think that pushed him over the edge and he had a pretty strong emotional reaction.

Gotta have a chat with him today cause I don't mind getting chewed out if I fuck up but I can't tolerate it when there's no established protocol and I'm at the mercy of shifting emotional states.

I got a oz of the wrong weed. I was too fixated on getting the cheapest one but this jelly rancher is trash. I had to smoke multiple bowls to get a slight effect and that’s with low tolerance. Meanwhile if I had only paid $8 more I could’ve got significantly better stuff( 7% more thc!) and would be smoking much less so I wasted money plain and simple.
