(now that i have your attention)
Well, I was riding my bike home today and the thing is a piece of crap. Its been giving me problems latley, and it really fucking sucks. I just got off work and was already tired and stressed out. I was riding up a mile long hill to get to my house, and the chain fell off and I almost fell. I lost my cool, and threw it downhill!
Turns out that was a bad idea because the bike is now useless. On top of my bent wheel, rusted chain, crappy gears, the pedal is now finished (it bent after I threw it down the hill).
I need a new mode of transportation, and need a cheap way to do it. Under 200 would be ideal, but I realize It may not happen. The thing is I just moved to Humboldt County and the rainy season is about to start Im excited for the mushroom hunting to commence, but this is going to make my transportation issue hell!
Any suggestions dudes? SHould I get a long board??? How can I make one rainproof? Any ideas for a cheap but reliable bike that wont rust?? How much would it cost to replace all the problems listed above??

You can fix up the bike you have for less than 200 if you're crafty with your money, and it wouldn't be rusty if you weren't leaving it outside.
EDIT: Also youre a cunt for misleading me with the title

all metals corrode, rust is preventable if you simply maintain your stuff
far less than $200 for a pedal and wheel

Well I'm assuming that you manage to keep from sleeping in the rain so this shouldn't really be that difficult to figure out. My bike is leaning up against the back of my couch.

A bike is simple to maintain, annoying to fix.
And i cant name how many people i know/ have know that keep their bike in their foyer/entrance way.

there are, but as far as i know, there are no carbon-fiber/aluminum chains/sprockets, which are the highest wear, and first to rust.

carbon fiber does deteriorate with UV exposure but it takes a long time, aluminum corrodes but the oxide is actually stronger than the aluminum, unfortunately the stuff that usually rusts are the steel parts that are found on almost all bikes
a rusty frame looks ugly but they're usually usable
