In the western world debates have always been incouraged, and every University in Europe and America had debate teams across every field of study. Today it seems even political debates have completely vanished from University discourse and the results are extremely polarized climate, students and people in general are incapsulated in their own bubbles knowing/understanding the other side very little, and what we see is vile behaviour, hate, mocking, violence and despair. But we didnt need to ban debates to know this, Plato would explain this to us 2400 years ago, but I guess reading is not as popular today as it used to be, are we getting more or less literate today?

Just to stay on topoic a bit here here's a cult related confession:
I made this abomination one day to see If I'd get more fragmented LC's and LI's. :laugh2:
Everyone is allowed to laugh and mock this thing as much as they want :bongload:

Looks like its from a damn horror movie :lmafo:
It probably is way more effective than a shard of glass but I didnt have a chance to test it out properly, I need to use materials that dont rust, this was back in 2020

Tried advance searching your posts by "LI Chopper" and "2000 big balls 3,2 ultra" but found nothing except in this post. Is that a professional magnetic stir plate below or did you build that yourself? Im thinking Im going to attempt making one myself if they turn out to cost a fortune, and I'll use my PC fan stirrer for minor stuff like experimenting with drying mush caps inside the jar while it spins to make spore solution

edit: Okay seems I should be searching Fiddle_head's posts

:lolsy:

So that is the cheapest stirplate around, Intllab, that said, I have made several stirplates with PC fans and they work the same. Gear wheel stir bar with two chopped stainless #11 blades on top.

Found this pup on Amazon just now for 19.99USD, dont see a reason to build my own with that price

description says: "for Portable use, 12 Voltage available for mobile use, lightweight and quiet operation.  stepless speed range 300-2000rpm and max stirring quantity 3L"

That's all I need, and my own custom made stir bar SHREDDER

But now that I think about it, will it come with a DC adapter made for American outlets? :uhoh: probably doesnt matter, I can probably modify that

Right, I made my own because I had the fans laying around anyway. I don't even like to use stirplates for my LC's so it is packed away. The ones I made was for yeast propagation for my beer

A light manual swirl of the media bottles once a day will do the trick :awesomenod:

For now I'm mpstly interested in breaking up cultures for LI's without needing to shake the LI jar or pulling it out of the SAB, to be able to break up the myc in seconds without splashing the water into the lid and all over the place. When I made LI's in thr past Id drop the culture in, place on the rubber band lid and then screw on the outer (full lid, not the ring one) screw the lid on tight and finally put the jar inside a freezer bag and only then would I shake the jar, despite double lids I would ALWAYS have a ton of water droplets inside the plastic bag around the rim of the jar, somehow bits of water will always escape through the lids

Got some agar work done for which I wanna praise myself - my SAB been collecting dust for too long again. Ochra and cube transfers. Really should put effort into having a weekly routine for cult work. I'll post the plates if they come out good looking!

You can buy the gear stir bar and I just cut the ends of two #11 blades and put them on the gear stir bar, magnet inside the bar holds them in place, unfortunately I haven't found a gear stir bar that fits inside media bottles, but I don't use LI anymore so it's fine. Just wanted to share the thing if anyone could find it useful
