Cloning - is bigger better?

I have cloned a couple times but typically don’t worry about it because I’m more interested in trying different strains (or whatever the term is).

That said, the second flush or later always yields some huge fruits compared to the first flush. I’m wondering if people typically clone these larger fruits, or are they slower to develop and therefore less desirable?

Assuming it is not practical to test the potency of individual fruits, how do people pick which fruits to clone?

in my experience cloning from anything but the first flush really isn't giving me what I'm looking to clone.

I clone for different reasons, size, looks, conditions ect.
