Diversity in 3rd flush ?s
    #1464328 - 04/16/03 05:36 PM (13 years, 10 months ago)

The 3rd flush from this 12X24" casing produced a few unusual fruits. The first flush was very abundant, maybe 100 to 120 fruit bodies total. They were very uniform in size, being quite small, and they all had a pale-ish cap color. Second flush was much the same. The 3rd however produced about 30 fruit bodies, and a couple of them are HUGE in comparison. Ive also noticed the cap color is very caramel on some of the others in this flush. Distinctly different from the others.

The base of the stems seem to have different characteristics as well....
The pale ones... smooth

The caramel capped ones... rhizo looking. Not sure if thats the right term for it.

Can anyone enlighten me why this has happened, and what the implications are. Obviously cloning of the larger fruit may be carried out, but what of the other? Are they a spinoff one would want to clone or print?

My friend always gets fewer and bigger fruits in the later flushes. He is not sure why this happens. If we get lucky Anno will chime in and enlighten us.

yup.. high humidity = fuzzy stems.

Same observation here as well.

I think fewer fruits is result of casing surface being messed with while picking first flushes... they pin and fruit on the undisturbed aereas... ( just a thought. not sure of this.... so don't quote it!! unless ANNO says so!! haha)
