I received two 5 pack BLTC samplers from my Nicaragua mule.  I haven't had the opportunity to try the Bishop's Blend.  The packs contain Lawless, Royalty, Last Rites, Salvation and Benediction Robustos.  I've already burned through one of the packs, and I'm into the second.  I wish I had a few more.



Tonight's smoke is the Last Rites.  An almost perfect maduro smoke.  Deep dark chocolate and earthy flavor, zero spice.  Extremely "smooth".  A nice compliment to one of my favorite cherry ales.

Oliva Monticello

Constitution: Nicaraguan puro, maduro wrapper
Taste: Musk, moist dark wood, slight coffee, slight black pepper late   
Body: Medium until the final quarter where it ramps to medium/full
Smoke: Good output. Thick and oily to taste despite the medium body
Draw: Excellent
Burn: Mostly sharp with an occasional slight wave. Long lasting with a cool burn. Ash somewhat flakey but held as expected
Appearance/pack: Medium firm pack. Soft box press. Classy bands. Pretty toothy

Quality, enjoyable smoke. I very much liked the complexity and flavor profile. A well balanced smoke with no overpowering notes.

RoMa Craft Cromagnon 6X54

Constitution: U.S. maduro wrapper, Cameroon binder(!), Nicaraguan filler.
Taste: Delicious honey glazed pretzel with light dried fruit undertone in first third, fading a bit in the second as a leather comes in. Final third is mostly typical maduro leather over a light bread undertone.   
Body: Full. Strong stick.
Smoke: Excellent output.
Draw: Excellent.
Burn: Very sharp until final third where it became slightly wavy. Very long lasting with a cool burn. Strong and confined ash.
Appearance/pack: Medium firm pack, medium tooth, a bit veiny and rustic looking, unassuming band.

I chose this stick to try as I'm very fond ov both Cameroon and Maduro wrappered cigars, and this just happens to feature a Maduro wrapper(a U.S. one at that) with a rare Cameroon binder. A very interesting combo to me but I did'nt want to get my hopes up too much. The taste profile ov the first third was absolutely fantastic. As it progressed it did transition to a more common profile as the sweetness faded, but it's still a palate I enjoy so I was'nt too disappointed. Just a phenomenal stick fading to good. Performance however was very solid, again proving to me that a rustic outward appearance is not indicative ov potential burn problems. I'll likely buy again.

It's dark and I'm 66.6% into it, so no photo, but tonight I'm having a Montecristo Petit Edmundo.  It's hitting all the right notes.  Wonderful.

I think it’s just people who aren’t familiar with cigar culture but then I don’t know why they’re smoking a cigar in the first place.
