so i downloaded 2 grateful dead albums

Built To Last and In The Dark ...and a few popular songs Shakedown St, Uncle John's Band, Casey JOnes, Scarlet Begonias and Chinacat Sunflower....anyway i really like a song off of Built To LAst called Just A Little LIght ...what else would i like by them?? what other albums should i grab?? :gd_icon:

Those are all good shows KOTT, I have them all myself, go with the live stuff!

You will appreciate the studio material in time but go with the Live stuff!!!!!!!!!! :gd_icon:

if you must download albums, get Live/Dead, as well as Reckoning.

Live/Dead is 69 era
Reckoning is 82 acoustic.... it's good for the acoustic side of the dead.


and the first dead album i ever heard was Skeletons from the closet, i suggest that to anyone who wants to start getting into the dead... it's easy to get the feel of the dead thru that album. it has the catchy studio sound like people are used to, but has that dead touch that will leave you wanting more :grin:

My brother likes them, I've heard them. They just don't do it for me, what they do just seems musically simple to me, not that I can do better or anything...

Yea I'm normally not a huge fan of lyrical content and the energy of the music can carry a lot of lacking in the skill department, but yea

oar just doesnt do it for me :smile:

Built to last pretty much sucks except for standing on the moon and foolish heart, so I would erase it and save space for something better. In the dark isn't great either.  Like everyone else says, go for the older studio albums if you're going studio.
