I'm going to be using ziplocks soon in search of clones. Meanwhile I want to contribute to this awesome thread so I dug deep in the archives and found some 2012 photos of a rye bag I never opened. Probably out of laziness, I just let this colonized rye bag sit neglected and then harvested this decent flush from it when I finally opened it. Amazon psilocybe cubensis

Came to say thanks for this tek. Didn’t have enough cakes for a watertub, so ziplock has helped me out nicely.

Picture of a ziplock that has a cake that finished it’s first flush and two cakes that are just chucked on top of each other after the first flush, to save space. One little bugger decided that now it wants to fruit from the bottom.

Thanks for the tek, suits me great! Had my GTs stall (think they were overhydrated and bacterial) but Tidal Waves kick ass! :dancer:

Hey fellas,

Started a few of these grows 3 weeks back. The bags are fully colonized with a really nice layer. They colonized super fast. They've been in their current state for just under a week. All the bags look about the same. Cubes.

Anything I need to do?

Stay the course. Maybe a few air holes.

Well crap. Two of the bags got contam. Luckily it wasn't sporulating yet.

The other two bags haven't pinned yet. I think I am going to open the tops a bit and let them breathe, they still look really moist.

I have combined the awesomeness of the Fahtloc FC with Beef's new rescue tek...

2 BRF pucks that have been hanging around, quite dry, so I soaked them, rolled in coir, and placed onto a bottom layer of coir. Wrap it up in a 2 gallon ziploc, moisten slightly, and GO!!!!  I hope this will help me save this pesky steel magnolia culture I've got.

Been almost 2 weeks now. No change. I added a little more FAE for a day or two to get rid of the excess moisture. Closed the top back up after a few hours. Things still look healthy, seems to have the proper moisture level.

Keep holding course?

Dang lost another bag.

Just found some trich :frown: it's been about a month now since they've fully colonized. Still no pins.

This is super cool! I’m thinking about making some and have a question all these years later… I’m using PF tek cakes and was wondering if I should mist them in their ziplock bags or let the humidity do its thing. Thank you :mushroom2:

No need to mist  just a container with water and put them on something above the water

Maketi f3 clone.

Inspired by tri’s squeezed together “zipperless” bags for creating a bigger fae hole at the opening, I started folding the corner over of the zipper side where the zipper ends up (I use mostly zipper type ziplocks) so that it creates a teardrop shape opening like this

It makes for nice sized hole that’s easily adjustable by how much you zip it up and also gives the sides of the bag more stability so they stay standing up.  It’s really improved my flush health.  Thanks tri!
