I think a sad reality is that if they don't, that if they just insist that the voting public is stupid, racist and misogynist and run Koala again then she'll probably lose again. The voters are always right in an election after all. Even when they are wrong they are still 100% right.

I dislike seeing a known grifter hold our highest office—a position he won through manipulation and backroom deals involving figures like Elon, who reportedly exploited legally obtained data to seal the deal over several years ahead of this ultimate takeover. Recall my earlier comment within the Elon thread in the pub (I’d link it but I’m lazy..anyway it was about): his acquisition of Twitter as essentially being for all the data. While the purchase price seemed exorbitant at the time, its long-term strategic value soon became clear.

Furthermore, various media platforms contributed to what amounted to a massive psychological operation—both overt and covert—that ultimately benefited Trump. Truthfully, there was no truly good choice in this presidential election; such choices rarely exist. Meanwhile, Don’s party allies & their affiliates continue reaping enormous rewards, while the people bear the cost through escalating wealth inequality. In an era where data is power—capable of predicting not just individual behavior but the actions of entire populations—the stakes have never been higher.

As for the left—what remains of it— might be able to crawl on the floor looking for scraps a bit at this point—but otherwise has been reduced to a shadow of its former self. The genuine progressives are almost universally demonized, painted as if they were some underground threat to the nation. This is absurd, especially considering who it is they seek to help to progress is us, the people, lol, and, who it is in contrast that is now really calling the shots, often against any hard lefty.

I believe maybe if the remaining progressive movement could nominate someone capable of holding their ground in the public arena—both domestically and on the world stage, and even pressing when need arises—though not resorting to the jackassery tactics Trump employs, and who isn’t fundamentally incompetent, it would mark a meaningful step forward.

Although, I can’t name anyone I’ve checked that’s decent at this point, and I really wish to remain hopeful that someone can eventually rise above the fray, that is, without being immediately quashed by an entrenched windows 95 styled system of ours. Maybe we’re on windows 98 now, but who can say as to the matter of a ‘left-leaning’ pick at this point. They’ll probably find someone who needs to hang from the comfort of their far-right-ness, and be touching the tip of the nearest ‘looks more like the left then we left it after right-ing it the last time’ to be termed “left”, and then run it just like that. *Hopefully it’s a touch better than my crummy assessment here.

And yeah, as for our dear shroomery leader, Mastermind Y,
they should have been there for us, he could’ve ran man.
