Went on a hunt the other morn. and everything was peachy. See, I bring my fishing pole with me everytime I go to this certain field because it has a creek that runs along it, and a couple of ponds that are on the field. I bring the fishing pole as a deterent because there aren't any trespassing, and if it came down to it I could say I was fishing. well the good news is, I collected my biggest haul yet(ever). The bad news is, I fucking accidently left my fishing pole somewhere on the field next to a pile of shit, I got excited for a second because I was finding mushrooms all over, and next thing I know, my pole is not in my hand, and I couldnt remember where I set it down at last...I freaking back tracked twice! and I still couldnt find it. I am going to have to go out there probably tomorrow to see if I can find that damn thing, I dont want to leave any traces of me being there. If anyone seen me coming off that field w/o a pole, I would of had to say something stupid like, "A fish thiiiiiiis big, yanked the pole right off the shore and into the water, it was a big'un."

THAT IS A FUCKING EXCELLENT IDEA!!!! YAY! HOORAY! I NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT BEFORE- I'M GOING TO THE SPORTS SHOP!!!!! (NICE HAUL BY THE WAY). When looking for your pole go in the morning and the sun will hit it ina way you can better see it than if you go mid-day.

Thats a nice find! Hopefully your pole will show up.
How large is the field? How long will it take you to cover all your tracks to find it?
Maybe you'll get another few when you go back out there at least...

Im not sure on exact size, but theres about 2 acres out of the whole field that I am only at and collecting. Like I said earlier, I backtracked twice, and still couldnt find it...and I came to the conclusion that it was my way of collecting that made me not find it; If I were going in a grid like pattern(like I have read somewhere on this site), I would most likely have found the damn thing when I back tracked. I dont know when im going to make it back out there, I doubt it will be tomorrow, cause I want to go back when its worth it! hopefully I will be leaving with TWO poles next time though!!

also, that other one is definately Copelandia cyanescens; just one???
-but in your second picture (of the gills) i saw some other mushrooms blurred in the backround with reddish-brown stems, not copelandias..
That picture of the detail on the copelandia gills is great though,

^^yeah that gillshot shows another Pan. species in the background, it wasnt picture worthy because of the damage it sustained coming home. you can see it though, in the first pic on the bottom right corner.
*edit - yeah, I only collected one cope, there were others out there, but real small.
