These pink Lotus are used in thai fod. They cut the flower and throw it away. The five to six foot long tubes of the plant are mixed with coconut and cooked and eaten unfortunately the next day when I came to town the food was all sold out so I did n0t get to try any.

Below i a wild flower, later will ost an upright image. Their are long protrudes yu cannot see becasue I photoshot it flat inthe rice paddie.

Those are very nice.
The wild flower looks like a snowflake.
...wonder what it is?

I miss Thailand...

I have eaten the lotus flowers and morning glory flowers in soups and salads over there. I find their taste and toughness a little unpleasant but I suppose they are added more for medicinal purposes.

Here's some flowers that grow along the path to a mountain temple in Chiang Dao. I'm not sure what kind they are but they're pretty.
