Dead shows and searching?

My neighbor was planning on going to the next dead show, and he was going to bring, some pot with him to the show but he is worying about being searched upon entering the show. Does he he have anything to wory about?

Yes, he must keep it someplace that won't be searched. They search purse's, pockets, all bags, hats, sometimes shoes. I think most shit goes in thru peoples underwear.

the people that search you are just event staff though.... many of them young... basically they are there to make sure people dont bring guns, knives, needles, handle bottles of vodka etc... into the concert area... when i went last year this kid just looked at me asked if i had anything. i said no then i went right through

That happens most of the time, I've been to venues all over the country. It can be very easy but I've had some harrassment before. The Aragon in Chicago made me pull down my hair, searched my hat, had me take off my shoes and even searched my crotch. I was shocked. I have been flat out busted with weed before and the handed it back and sent me on my way. It depends but it's hard to know what to expect. Word usualy spreads down the line pretty quickly when there is heavy searching so usually there is nothing to worry about but it's hard to say if they will have cops up there or not.

the aragon sucks.... they search you pretty good when you go to the house of blues and other downtown conerts too... most rural concerts are much more lax on security though, big city concerts are always anal...... route 66 speedway in rural joliet last year rocked... giant fields surrounding it and security was barely noticeable

House of Blues was heavy huh? The only time I was there I walked right in, they didn't even have the simplest pat downs. It was for Umphrey's Mcgee in like 2001 maybe 02. The Aragon is definitly a fucking shit hole. I would never ever go there again. Your right to about the city stuff, I don't think I've ever had serious searchs anywhere than Chicago, Denver and Atlanta.
