The lot scene at The Dead shows

How?s the lot scene this year?
I don?t have enough money to be able to afford the tickets and some cid which is a big bummer because they are botch almost as equally important to me. Ive been looking for cid for over 4 years to no avail and I was looking forward to having my first experience at a dead show but it looks like im going to have to sacrifice the show for the possibility of getting some cid in the lot.
Ill be going down to Atlanta on Thursday but before I went I just had a few questions. Ive never tried to get anything at a concert before so what should I be looking for? Should I just go around and ask people or how should I go about it? What should I be looking for? Do you have any tips on how not to get ripped? Should I just stick to the Buddha?s, Fractals, and Tie-Dyes? What do they look like exactly so I know? What kind of prices should I expect?
I would like to be able to get at least a 10 strip if not 2. Should I go for any mescaline if I see it or is it all bunk? How is the lot, can you just hang out around outside and listen to the music and chill with people? Because if so do you think it would be safe to go ahead and test it so I don?t drive all the way back to Greenville, SC only to get ripped?
Anyone familiar with the Atlanta area? Would it be cool to trip there or should I just drive back home that night? What time should I get there around? Im quitting smoking pot for a while now because I have drug tests in a couple months and it?s been about a week since I smoked, but if the pot is quality I would take advantage of that seeing as how the best around here is beasters.
Is anyone going to the show that would like to meet up and show me the ropes or just work as a team? Im not looking for a hookup, only information, so I thought it would be cool to make a thread.
Im looking forward to this more than anything I ever have in my life because the experience will definitely be one of the most significant and important ones in it.
Any info would me so greatly appreciate beyond what words can describe! This is very important to me! Ive learned so much here at the shroomery from all you good people I already feel like I owe you my life, but this would be so incredibly wonderful I can?t even communicate my gratitude!
Thank you so much my fellow Shoomerites....I really owe you guys one for everything!

to tell you the truth i would love to see the dead probably more than do acid. But its just that i wouldent be able to enjoy the experience as much as i would like without having the money to do both. I would want my first liv experience with the dead to be as memorable as possible and seeing a bunch of people on acid and having it sit there and taunt me while ive spent over 4 years of my life trying to get my hands on some would just be uncomfortable. I wouldent be able to enjoy the music as much. I just started getting into the deads music within the last year or so, and i love it just as much as the next person. They are my favorite band now. But to tell you the truth.....just having the experience of tripping on LSD, even if its only once in my entire life, that is at the top of my list right now on things to do in life. I really wanted to be able to do it at the show but its just not possible unless someone wants to give me 2 tickets.
this was truly one of the hardest decisions i have ever made in my entire life.

Sitting outside of a Dead show high on acid while thousands of my brothers and sisters are inside drives me nuts. You need to see the band. That is what tour is about. Not just scoring drugs then leaving. Acid doesn't cost as much as a ticket. Get a ticket, then if you can't afford a dose ask people to dose you. Tell them "this is my first show and I'd like it to be my first dose to". Somebody will dose you. Ask the older family. If they know its your first show they'll probably fight over who gets to dose you. I'd puddle you silly.
Its about the music.

chinacat you always know exactly what to say.
do you think people will have some extra tickets there? Im gonna do everything in my power to get enough money. I would really like to be able to get extra to take back with me but we will see.
I guess i could look for someone with a couple of extra tickets and then see if they have a dose

There were a lot of people being miracled at the rocks. Make a sign saying something like "Help me get into my first Dead show" or something like that. You'd be surprised at how many tickets are just given away by kind-hearted people.

True that. I have seen many people over the years with signs that say "first show dose me " Works like a charm. Just watch out for puddles. Usually works quickly. Don't abuse the miracle system though. If you can afford to pay. Miracles are for kind hearted people with no cash.

sweet...i was gonna ask about that dose thing on a sign. I didnt know weather that would attract unwanted attention or not :/
its going to be me and a friend and niether one of us have shit for cash. He might have $50...thats why i said i have $50. We were planning on possibly getting a 10 strip. But we need some of that money for gas :/
What if we made a sign like "Help us get into our first Dead show, our first dose would be nice too" or something to that effect.
as for puddles.....i was planning on maybe 2 hits but a puddle.....wow..how much would that be....im assuming i would be strait doing a puddle my first time based on the fact that i would be at a Dead show.
also it says Bob Dylan will go on stage at 3:30. What time do you reccomend getting there?
would it be possible to take some food or something to sell to get some cash? We could set up some kind of thing and have the sign sitting there

I would just ask people to dose me, but others make signs.

Many people do it and have for many decades.

A puddle is when you hold out your hand and someone squirts a shitload of liquid into your palm forming a puddle. Anywere from 10 to 100 doses. If you have never taken acid before don't do a puddle. It would be a little too much possibly.

If your looking for tickets and party favors get there very early.

Now your talking my man. I love deadheads who support themselves. I know people who make 200-300$ a show selling veggie grilled cheese all day. Get yourself a coleman stove, bread, butter and cheese and you can make all kinds of cash, espcially after the show. Folks are hungry after a show and want hippie food. Plus this is an excellent way to meet people. This is your best bet. You can get tickets, doses, make new friends and not have to rely on people giving you stuff. Good luck.

your awsome chinacat =0)
its a shame you arent going to the show
by early how early do you mean? 9am? 10am? i have a 3 hour drive to get there.
hippie food eh hmmm lets see...veggie grillied cheese, never herd of it. Ill have to think of some good stuff to make. Should we ask for a certain amount or just ask for a donation or something?
sorry to bother you with so many question but i want to be as prepared as possible
i wish i had a tie-die shirt...the one i had is long gone :/ haha i have a white shirt i could make into a tie-dye! i think i might do that. Then if i raise enough money i could get a shirt at the show.

man, thats lame...just go to the show, and somehow just work up maybe 10-12 dollars for acid (have a friend lone it to you or something) but if not, who cares, it will be memorable as well without acid, bring a few bowls. You will regret not going to the show and just hanging out in the fucking lot. And btw...have you eaten shrooms before or anything similar? If not, you may want to have your first psychedelic experience elsewhere.....but that would be pretty fun.

Only went to a couple Other Ones shows because after Jerry died I didn't want to see the band without him. The Dead shows this summer are good musically, but IMO not even comparable to the Grateful Dead. I will say that these shows this summer are better than anything I heard from the Other Ones. Nice to see some old friends out on the road for one last round. Thats more important to me than the music at this point. Its a bad POV, but I trully miss Jerry to the point that its hard for me to enjoy the band without him. I do enjoy them ,but not at near the level that I did in the 80's and 90's when Jerry was around.
Don't let my bias towards the Jerry years effect how you view the Dead. Its just my opinion. To me it will never be the same or nearlly as good. Thats just my perspective and others differ. The Dead can still bring some magic to some people and thats what counts. I hope they play on till the end of their lives.

For food, here's what you do (ive never been to a lot and probably wont be for along time, but people will enjoy these!) Chop up red and green pepper, purple and white onion (diced), Lettuce (diced), And deli ham *sliced into little bits). Now fry the onion and peppers and meat with a little garlic and onion seasoning till a nice golden brown or fried enough, fill cone drink cups (you know the ones) with a coned flat bread (you can make those instead of buying them easily) fill with lettuce, and dump on the veggies and meat. And serve with italian dressing.
-------------------- GO OUTSIDE.

Directions 1 In a medium bowl, toss together the coleslaw mix and bean sprouts. 2 Spread one side of each bread slice with margarine. Spread opposite side of 4 slices with honey mustard. Layer the honey mustard side of the 4 bread slices with the coleslaw mixture and cheese. kinda messed around with it so i can cook a lot at a time and use stuff thats already in the house
Ingredients lots of shredded cabbage, carats & celery lots of slices bread lots of butter lots of slices Cheddar cheese lots of honey mustard
Directions 1) Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). 2) Butter one side of 9 slices of bread, and place butter-side down on a baking sheet. Arrange cheese on each slice of bread. Add a reasonable ammount of the veggie mix. Spread butter on 9 remaining slices of bread, spread honey hustard on the other side, and place them buttered-side up on top of the cheese and veggie mix. 3) Bake in preheated oven for 6 to 8 minutes. Flip the sandwiches, and bake an additional 6 to 8 minutes, or until golden brown.

make it pretty cheap i'd suspect just enough to cover your materials also some people may barter like 3 sandwiches for a dose or two. bartering is awesome great idea for that cute girl i'd give her a hug for .50

Think I could barter shrooms for tickets? I really wanted to go to this show, but was passing b/c of lack of cash. Like Vulture, I've been into the dead for just a year or so, and have never had the chance to see them or try acid.
How risky would that be? I don't normally deal, so it would make me nervous.

Many people at shows are very aware of what they are eating, things like highly processed meats ( ham ) will not sell as well as alot of other things. I won't eat random meats but I am not vegatarian, I have to know the source. Here are a couple of my favorite things to snack on in the lot.
These go for 3$ or 2 for 5$ Pita Sprouts Tomatoes Cucumbers Humuce
or Veggie Burrito 3$ or 2 for 5$
Tortillas Black Beans Rice Corn Onions, Peppers, Jalapeno, ect.. Guacamola Mushrooms Spinach, sprouts, broccolli-- some sort of green
Or
1$ Garlic Grilled Cheese

wait a second
-No umbrellas
-No cameras or recording devices
-No coolers, baskets, or lawn chairs (lawn chairs can be rented at venue)
-No Food Or Beverages Prepared Off Premises (Concessions Available At Venue) (Patrons may bring one factory sealed bottle of water per paid admission).
^ are they gonna enforce that crap?

I just got back from 2 1/2 days for the lauderdale show; the concert was fabulous, the scene was very dissappointing though; i decided against going to the tampa and atlanta shows because of this.
No acid either One guy told me that he got one drop of liquid but that was it. I sparked up conversation with most vendors and hippies welcomeing them to florida and 90% of the people were complaining about ticket prices and not many people seemed to want that badly to go inside!!!
No drugs were being sold, except for the mushroom chocolates, and i will be starting a thread of it's own about the "berthas kitchen" chocolates.
The scene was very dissappointing, but the show was good.
Keep shroomin, and please do not do that with a $40 2.6gram mushroom chocolate,
Keep shroomin, GG
Other than that bob dylan was wearing these tight black elvis pants and he blew me right away, it sounded super muddy hehehe
'Weir was in impressive form...positioned center stage.
Phil was in the zone and mickey and bills "drums" sounded so good, a definately highlight.
Keep shroomin, GG

I'm not here, I'm not reading, but I urge you all to keep melting down over me. I know, I hurt alot of people, and they deserved it. epic win for me, epic fail for you. ythan, you rock dude. i feel that my time at the shroomery was very positive and enjoyable, but this site is no longer for me. im not mad or upset or disappointed, i just want no part in a pg rated faggot festival. <
