 Getting Tickets for Dead Show On Date of Show?

Whats up Pub's?
What do you guys think about getting tickets to the Dead shows in NJ and NYS on the day of the show around the arena area, parking lot. Reason is that my funds are a little low and i'm looking to score some tix for under face but can't find anything online. For all the Shroomery Dead heads, whats your take on this? Can you give a Dead Head seeker some advice on his first Dead tour?

You can probably get tix for those shows since there farely large venues.
1.Bringing something to trade usually works well.Like dank nugs ,shrooms or acid.
2. You can probably find someone to sell you one ,although it might be more than face value.
3. Put your finger in the air and hope for a miracle(you'll see what i'm talking about when you get there) 
If possible get them before hand though. That way you can just consentrait on having a good time.

I don't live anywere near the east coast. I might be attending those shows though,
since i'm doing most of the tour anyway. NY should be good. As for New Jersey, well the only reason I would ever enter that state would be for a Dead show(no offence to NJ residents who love their state).

any large venue show ive been to, its easy to find scalpers, and its easy to get ripped by them. but, almost every large venue show will sell tickets at the enterance, just make sure you get there fairly early because they wont be selling too many.

Thanks for all the advice lads,
When i go to baseball games there are always people who have extra tickets that they sell to scalpers or folks looking to score cheap tickets. And the price they sell is always way below face value. I know that the Dead shows won't house nearly the same amount of people a ballgame would but i'm sure people will have extra's. Like Mez said, getting there early is the key .

My friend and I were planning to goto the Dead show here in Wisconsin when summerfest rolls around....... but he said we didn't have to buy tickets, we could just get the grass seats, is this a bad idea?

I'll be at the summerfest show, I don't think it will be a problem finding tickets but my dad is an old head and is taking me, my mom and my friend. As for getting a miracle, just think good thoughts and good things will happen.

Don't put too much faith in a miracle these days, lately at Phil shows there have just been too many people looking for tix outside the venue.

it's outdoors and I would guess holds about 10,000 - 12,000
